BlownAway - Kiting for schools

The BlownAway 'Learn to Kite' course will give both children and teenagers an excellent, fun introduction to an exhilarating wind-sport.

In addition to basic kiting instruction as per the Taster Session, we can provide an educational element, explaining how sails work, what creates our winds, and how to read weather maps. We encourage question and answer sessions at the end of each day.

Safety is paramount for us - our experienced instructors have first aid certificates and equipment. Courses are usually held in a very safe location in Takanini (Bruce Pulman Park). Alternatively, we can come out to your school grounds if there is a safe space available that is open to the winds and away from power lines. Students are partnered up for practise and under close supervision at all times.

There is no minimum age for kiting. However, the child should weigh at least 30kg.

We can cater for school groups up to ? students based on two children sharing a kite or up to 50 children when kiting is combined with other activities such as blokarting.

The cost for each course is calculated based on normal tuition rates, but will be cheaper, depending on the location, the session length and number of sessions booked, and the number of participants.
